Welcome to Bing Fa Consulting’s Seminar Series page. Our goal is to provide our clients with the cultural training they need to be successful in China, which means going beyond the surface culture found in many books and consulting firms. Our approach is a holistic one focused on “deep culture” or what we call the “Cultural Mindset””.   Through our seminar series and private consultations, our clients develop an in-depth understanding of Chinese culture. Companies that follow our holistic approach lower the risk of cultural misunderstanding and achieve a strategic advantage over their competitors in the form of successful ventures and the productive use of assets, time and capital.

Cultural misunderstandings are costing American companies millions of dollars a year. Currently, there is $65 Billion in FDI contracted in China and about $38 Billion is currently in place. If the current numbers hold true, which they will, then 75% or $28 Billion of the $38 Billion currently in place in China will be lost due to failed mergers, joint ventures, and accessions. Out of that 75% or $28.5 Billion, 85% or $24.23 Billion will be lost due to conflicting cultural values. This loss is avoidable, if top management is 100% committed to bridging the cultural gap with understanding, training, and managers with global mindsets.

We understand that failing mergers, joint ventures and accessions are rarely caused by a single act. It’s usually a combination of clashing national and corporate cultures over time and the degree of transparency caused by the acculturation and avoidance environment that develops do to the lack of cultural understanding. Companies waist time throwing good money and resources after bad, trying to save a failing venture. Top management needs to realize that 64% of all their problems relating to a troubled venture in China are due to conflicting cultural issues.
